 Dougie Thomson


March 24, 1951. Douglas Campbell Thomson joined Supertramp as their bass guitarist in 1972 after a stint with The Alan Bown Set. His melodic arrival helped solidify the classic lineup that produced the 1974 breakthrough Crime of the Century. He remained the foundational rhythmic pulse for the group from 1972 to 1988, contributing to their global success with albums like Even in the Quietest Moments and the massive Breakfast in America. 

Thomson also performed backing vocals while touring extensively through 1980.

Mike Kellie


March 24, 1947 – January 18, 2017. Spooky Tooth relied on Michael Alexander Kellie as their primary drummer during their initial formation and various reunions spanning 1967 to 1974. His powerful technique drove the heavy progressive sound of albums like Spooky Two. Between these stints, he provided percussion for The Only Ones from 1976 to 1982. 

As a prolific session contributor, he also lent his skills to recordings for Peter Frampton and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Steve Lang


March 24, 1949 – February 4, 2017. April Wine recruited Stephen Stewart Lang as their bass guitarist in 1976 to replace Jim Clench. His arrival coincided with the band's peak commercial era, providing the low-end frequencies and backing vocals for multi-platinum albums like First Glance and Harder... Faster. He remained a vital member of the Canadian hard rock group from 1976 to 1984. 

He also showcased his versatility on the double neck guitar during high-energy world tours.
