Brad Delp

June 12, 1951 – March 9, 2007

As the foundational lead vocalist for Boston, Brad Delp defined the towering, arena-packing sound of late-seventies radio with an astonishing and pristine vocal range. He joined forces with mastermind Tom Scholz in the earliest years of the decade to lay down legendary basement demo tapes, which eventually secured a major recording contract and culminated in a historic, self-titled 1976 debut record. Brad Delp was the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, and harmonica player who stepped out from behind the microphone to support these rich studio arrangements.

His soaring delivery on multi-platinum anthems propelled the ensemble to instant global stardom, navigating relentless stadium tours and cementing a massive commercial presence with the 1978 follow-up collection Don't Look Back. He maintained his role as the core voice of the group across several distinct eras, contributing to major recording projects and high-profile concert tours until 2007.

John Wetton

June 12, 1949 – January 31, 2017

Emerging from the vibrant late-sixties club scene, John Wetton quickly established a reputation for his powerful baritone vocals and anchoring the low end for early progressive acts. He handles vocals, bass guitar, guitar, and keyboards. He contributed to the 1971 self-titled debut album by the brass-rock outfit Mogul Thrash before stepping into a prominent creative role on the final studio releases from Family.

King Crimson integrated his thunderous playing style into three groundbreaking studio albums from 1973 to 1974. Following that group dissolution, he performed as a touring musician for Roxy Music on live concert recordings and promotional dates. He subsequently recorded two studio albums as an official member of Uriah Heep from 1975 to 1976.

He co-founded the progressive supergroup U.K. in 1977, recording two highly technical studio albums before transitioning to a brief stint with Wishbone Ash in 1980. His global commercial peak arrived when he formed Asia in 1981, serving as their primary lead singer and commanding the front of the stage across multiple eras of the band until 2017.
