Simon House
August 29, 1948 – May 25, 2025
Simon House joined the heavy psychedelic group High Tide in 1968. He played violin and bass for their debut album in 1969 and a self-titled follow-up in 1970. He then performed with the experimental Third Ear Band, helping record a movie soundtrack album in 1971.
By late 1973, he joined the space rock group Hawkwind to replace their departing synthesizer player. He brought a new style to the band by playing violin and keyboards on albums like Hall of the Mountain Grill in 1974 and Quark, Strangeness and Charm in 1977.
He left Hawkwind in 1978 to become a touring musician for David Bowie during a major world tour. He played violin on Bowie's live album Stage in 1978 and recorded parts for the studio album Lodger in 1979. He returned to record and perform with Hawkwind during several different periods spanning from 1989 through 2003.

Sterling Morrison
August 29, 1942 – August 30, 1995
Sterling Morrison helped form the Velvet Underground in 1965. He played guitar and bass guitar on their debut studio album in 1967. He also performed on their next three studio albums released in 1968, 1969, and 1970.
He stayed as an official member until he left the group in 1971. In 1993, he joined the original lineup for a full European reunion tour. He played guitar as a guest on a live track for a different band's album in 1994.
