August 30, 1950

Micky Moody played guitar for the blues rock group Tramline and recorded two albums with them in 1968 and 1969. He joined the band Juicy Lucy in 1970 and performed on three of their studio albums before they split up. In 1973, he co-founded a new group called Snafu that mixed rock, funk, and country styles. He recorded three albums with Snafu before the lineup dissolved in 1976.

Singer David Coverdale hired Moody in 1977 to play guitar on his first solo album. They formed the rock band Whitesnake together in 1978. Moody played guitar on major albums like Trouble in 1978, Lovehunter in 1979, and Ready an' Willing in 1980. He remained an official member of the group until 1983.
