 David Crosby

August 14, 1941 – January 18, 2023

The sparkling vocal harmonies of California rock took a massive leap forward when David Crosby co-founded Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1968. He anchored the supergroup as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, creating a rich acoustic blend that defined the era. His intricate rhythm guitar work and soaring high tenor voice helped push their 1969 debut album to multi-platinum success. When Neil Young climbed aboard the following year, the expanded lineup released Deja Vu, which featured his haunting signature track Almost Cut My Hair.

He also launched a parallel solo career with his deeply atmospheric 1971 album If I Could Only Remember My Name. Beyond his main group, he teamed up regularly with Graham Nash for a series of successful duo albums and massive concert tours. He also reunited with his old bandmates for sporadic projects and kept recording vibrant solo albums well into the 2020s.

Dash Crofts

August 14, 1938 – March 25, 2026

The sunny sounds of Texas acoustic rock found a perfect pairing when Dash Crofts teamed up with his longtime musical partner to form Seals and Crofts in 1969. He anchored the soft rock duo by singing sweet harmonies and playing the mandolin, guitar, and keyboards, keeping their sound light and breezy. His mandolin added a unique folk flavor that stood out on pop radio. Their musical journey together lasted all the way from 1969 to 1980 before they took a long break.

The duo became huge stars when they released the album Summer Breeze in 1972 and followed it with Diamond Girl in 1973. He later reunited with his partner for new concert tours and recorded another studio album in 2004.
