 Jim Kale


August 11, 1943

Jim Kale drove the powerful low end of The Guess Who as their original bass guitar player during their peak hitmaking years. He anchored the classic rock tracks that made the group famous worldwide. His steady bass lines formed the foundation for massive radio anthems like American Woman and These Eyes. He stayed with the band through numerous lineup changes until leaving the lineup in 1972.

Later in the decade, he formed a new version of the band to keep touring. He continued to perform with various lineups of the group until 2018.

Eric Carmen


August 11, 1949 – March 10, 2024

Eric Carmen drove the power pop sound of Raspberries as their frontman, piano player, and rhythm guitar player. He fueled the band to huge heights with crunching chords and bright melodies. Their massive hit Go All The Way dominated the airwaves and established them as leaders of a brand new musical style. The group recorded four albums together before splitting up.

A brilliant solo career followed immediately for him. He earned gold records with sweeping ballads like All By Myself that featured his classical piano training. He kept placing songs high on the charts and writing major hits for other performers well into the late eighties.
