 Stu Cook

April 25, 1945. Creedence Clearwater Revival featured Stuart Alden Cook as the bassist and backing singer from 1967 to 1972. He provided the driving, melodic low end that defined their swamp rock sound on landmark albums like Bayou Country and Green River. His collaborative rhythm work helped propel the quartet to massive international success during the late sixties.

After the group dissolved, he released a solo project and eventually joined the Don Harrison Band in 1976. He remained active throughout the decade, providing his skills as the bassist for various recording sessions and performing with the Rocky Sullivan Band. His professional focus remained on rhythm section duties and production for diverse rock ensembles through 1980.
