Mike Harrison
September 30, 1942 – March 25, 2018
Mike Harrison began his career with The V.I.P.'s before the group evolved into Art and then Spooky Tooth in 1967. As one of the band's principal lead singers and keyboard players, he appeared on albums including It's All About, Spooky Two, Ceremony, and The Last Puff. His blues-influenced vocals became a defining part of Spooky Tooth's sound during the group's most influential years.
Following the band's first breakup in 1970, Harrison launched a solo career and released the albums Mike Harrison, Smokestack Lightning, and Rainbow Rider. He later reunited with various versions of Spooky Tooth while also recording and performing with the Hamburg Blues Band.
Harrison remained closely associated with Spooky Tooth throughout his career, returning for reunions and new recordings well into the 2000s. His work with the band and his solo recordings secured his place among the distinctive voices of British rock's late 1960s and 1970s era.
