Kenney Jones
September 16, 1948
The rock group Small Faces featured Kenney Jones as their original drummer throughout the history of the group. After the band split up in 1969, he formed a new group called Faces with the remaining members and some new additions. He played drums on all four of their studio records, including A Nod Is As Good As a Wink To a Blind Horse in 1971.
When Faces broke up in 1975, he participated in a brief Small Faces reunion from 1975 to 1978. In 1978, The Who selected Kenney Jones to take over on drums following the death of Keith Moon. He made his recorded debut with them on the 1981 album Face Dances. He continued to play drums with the band until 1988 and later formed another group called The Law in 1991.
