Bob Seger
May 6, 1945
Bob Seger established himself within the Detroit circuit by fronting The Bob Seger System, where he performed on guitar, piano, and keyboards. This early venture produced the hard-driving album Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1969. Following a brief period as a solo artist, he assembled the Silver Bullet Band in 1974, a group he has led through 2026.
His rise to national prominence arrived with the 1976 release of Live Bullet and the studio masterpiece Night Moves. These recordings highlighted his gravelly vocals and blue-collar storytelling. He continued a run of multi-platinum success with the albums Stranger in Town and Against the Wind. Throughout this era, he remained a prolific songwriter, delivering numerous rock staples and touring extensively with his dedicated ensemble.
