Noel Redding
December 25, 1945 – May 11, 2003
Noel Redding joined the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1966 after auditioning as a guitarist but agreeing to play bass guitar to complete the new trio. Singing while playing bass, he helped establish the band's sound on albums including Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, and Electric Ladyland.
Redding left the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1969 and formed Fat Mattress, where he returned to guitar and lead vocals. He later pursued a solo career, reunited with former bandmates for selected projects, and continued recording and performing for the remainder of his career.

Henry Vestine
December 25, 1944 – October 20, 1997
Henry Vestine co-founded Canned Heat in 1965 after earlier performing with the Mothers of Invention and becoming well known on the Los Angeles blues scene. Playing lead guitar, his powerful blues style helped establish the band's sound on albums including Boogie with Canned Heat, Living the Blues, and Future Blues.
Vestine left Canned Heat several times during the 1970s but returned for multiple reunions, remaining closely associated with the band throughout his career. He also recorded and performed with a variety of blues artists while continuing to build on the reputation he earned as one of the leading blues rock guitarists of his era.
