Lemmy Kilmister
December 24, 1945 – December 28, 2015
Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, know simply as "Lemmy", joined Hawkwind in 1971 as its bass guitarist and quickly became one of the band's most recognizable members, singing lead vocals on the hit single "Silver Machine." After leaving Hawkwind in 1975, he formed Motörhead, where his driving bass style, gritty voice, and straightforward songwriting helped define a faster, heavier approach to hard rock.
Lemmy appeared on albums including Overkill, Bomber, and Ace of Spades while leading Motörhead for four decades without interruption. He collaborated with numerous artists throughout his career but remained devoted to the band he founded, becoming one of rock's most respected and recognizable figures.

Jan Akkerman joined Focus in 1970 after previously recording with Brainbox, quickly establishing himself as one of the leading guitarists of the progressive rock era. Playing lead guitar while contributing to the band's songwriting, he helped create its distinctive blend of rock, jazz, classical, and instrumental music on albums including Moving Waves, Focus 3, and Hamburger Concerto.
