Sib Hashian
August 17, 1949 – March 22, 2017
Sib Hashian replaced Boston's drummer Jim Masdea in 1975. He supplied the powerful, crisp rhythms that helped launch their self-titled 1976 debut album into a global phenomenon. His precise beats drove massive radio staples like More Than a Feeling and Peace of Mind. He kept the exact same high energy flowing on their chart-topping 1978 follow-up record, Don't Look Back.
He stepped away from the main lineup after working on the early sessions for their next project. He shifted gears to provide steady beats for fellow bandmate Barry Goudreau on a self-titled studio release. This independent project scored a major rock radio hit with the track Dreams. He spent the rest of his career performing in various regional rock outfits and joining special concert tours with classic rock artists until 2017.
