Del Dettmar
April 20, 1947. Del Dettmar provided an otherworldly sonic landscape while handling the synthesizer and electronics for Hawkwind from 1971 to 1974. His technical expertise contributed significantly to the space rock atmosphere of the landmark Silver Machine single and the classic Space Ritual live album.
Initially serving as a road manager, he transitioned into a permanent role where his textured oscillations became a definitive element of the band's dense, cosmic sound before he departed for Canada.

Craig Frost
April 20, 1948. In 1973, Grand Funk Railroad officially added Craig Frost, who played the organ, clavinet, and piano. He contributed significantly to the heavy rock sound of the group until their 1976 disbandment, then returned for a reunion from 1980 to 1983.
Following his initial departure from that trio, he joined Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in 1978. As an integral member of the touring ensemble and studio recordings, he played keyboards and synthesizers. He remained a mainstay of Seger’s lineup from 1978 to 2019. His melodic sensibilities and rhythmic timing helped define the keyboard textures of multi-platinum albums released during the late seventies.
