Paul Day


April 19, 1956 – July 29, 2025. Iron Maiden recruited Paul Mario Day as their original lead vocalist when the group formed in 1975. He performed with the ensemble during their formative years on the London pub circuit until 1976, contributing to the development of their early heavy metal stage presence. His delivery helped define the energy of the band during their initial live shows before he departed the lineup.

The heavy rock group More added Paul Mario Day to their roster as lead singer in 1980. He provided vocals for their debut album and toured extensively, including a performance at the Monsters of Rock festival. His professional focus remained on fronting hard rock bands, where he was recognized for his range and powerful vocal contributions to the burgeoning British metal scene.
