During a 1982 concert in Des Moines, Iowa, someone threw what Ozzy believed was a rubber bat onto the stage. Thinking it was a toy, he picked it up and bit its head off. To his horror, it was real. Ozzy was rushed to the hospital to undergo a series of rabies vaccinations, and the bizarre accident became one of the most famous moments in rock history.

Remember The Alamo

While in San Antonio in 1982, Ozzy wandered away from his hotel wearing one of Sharon Osbourne's dresses after hiding his own clothes. Intoxicated and desperate to relieve himself, he urinated on the Alamo Cenotaph, a protected memorial honoring those who died defending the Alamo. He was arrested, banned from performing in San Antonio for a decade, and spent years apologizing for what he later called one of the greatest embarrassments of his life.

The Dove Disaster

During a meeting with record executives in Los Angeles, Ozzy intended to release two white doves as a peaceful gesture. One escaped immediately, and in a moment of shocking spontaneity, he bit the head off the other. The horrified executives were stunned, and the story quickly spread throughout the music industry. Performing from a specially designed throne because of declining health, he reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath for one final performance. The emotional farewell raised millions for charity and gave fans the opportunity to celebrate the band where its remarkable journey had begun. For many, it was the perfect ending to one of rock's most extraordinary careers. Ozzy passed away just seventeen days later.
