 Joe Perry


September 10, 1950

Joe Perry formed Aerosmith alongside singer Steven Tyler in 1970. He played lead guitar and sang backing vocals for the group. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1973. He stayed as an official member during their massive rise in the 1970s. He recorded and co-wrote songs for major albums like Toys in the Attic in 1975 and Rocks in 1976.

He left the group in 1979 during the recording of the Night in the Ruts album. He immediately started his own band called The Joe Perry Project. That new group released its first album called Let the Music Do the Talking in 1980. He recorded solo material with this lineup until 1984. He then rejoined Aerosmith that same year and continues to tour and record with them.

Barriemore Barlow


September 10, 1945

In 1971, Barriemore Barlow joined Jethro Tull as their new studio and touring drummer. He played on his first full album with the progressive group for the release of Thick as a Brick in 1972. He remained an official member of the band through 1980, contributing to major recordings such as A Passion Play in 1973, Minstrel in the Gallery in 1975, and Songs from the Wood in 1977. His last studio performance with the lineup appeared on the Stormwatch album in 1979.

Before his time with Jethro Tull, he performed with various local groups including The John Evan Band in 1967. He also worked as a session player for other artists after 1980, playing on the studio album Caught in the Crossfire by John Wetton in 1980 and collaborating on individual tracks with Yngwie Malmsteen in 1985.

Don Powell


September 10, 1945

In 1966, Don Powell became a founding member of the rock group Slade. He played drums for the band and anchored their rhythmic sound during their rise to success. He stayed as an official member of the group through their entire original run until 1992.

He performed on major early recordings like Play It Loud in 1970 and Slayed? in 1972. Despite facing serious injuries from a car accident in 1973, he quickly returned to the lineup. He continued recording and touring with the band on albums like Old New Borrowed and Blue in 1974 and Whatever Happened to Slade in 1977. He also performed on their live album Slade Alive! in 1972.

Danny Hutton


September 10, 1942

Danny Hutton formed Three Dog Night in 1967 as one of the group's three lead singers. He shared vocal duties with Chuck Negron and Cory Wells, creating a unique sound that led to massive success. He stayed with the group until they broke up in 1976 and returned when they reformed in 1981, continuing to perform with them for decades.

He sang lead vocals on their hit song Black and White in 1972 and contributed to major records like Suitable for Framing in 1969 and Seven Separate Fools in 1972. Before starting Three Dog Night, he recorded as a solo artist and worked as a talent scout for Hanna-Barbera Records in 1965.
