 Bob Siebenberg


October 31, 1949

Bob Siebenberg joined Supertramp in 1973, replacing Kevin Currie, and became the band's drummer during its most successful years. His drumming appeared on albums such as Crime of the Century, Crisis? What Crisis?, Even in the Quietest Moments..., Breakfast in America, Famous Last Words..., and Brother Where You Bound. He helped support the band's blend of progressive rock and pop while contributing occasional songwriting and vocals.

Siebenberg remained with Supertramp until the group's hiatus in 1988 and later participated in reunions, tours, and recordings with various lineups of the band. He also released solo recordings under the name Bob C. Benberg and pursued projects outside of Supertramp while maintaining a close association with the band's music. His work with Supertramp established him as one of the notable drummers to emerge from progressive rock during the 1970s.

Larry Mullen


October 31, 1961

Larry Mullen Jr. founded U2 in 1976 after posting a notice seeking musicians at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin. As the band's drummer, he helped shape albums such as Boy, October, War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby. His disciplined drumming style became an important part of U2's sound, supporting songs including "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Pride (In the Name of Love)," "With or Without You," and "Where the Streets Have No Name."

Mullen remained with U2 throughout the band's rise from a local Irish group to one of the world's most successful rock acts. In addition to his work with U2, he collaborated with Adam Clayton on the theme from Mission: Impossible in 1996 and occasionally pursued acting and other creative interests. After stepping back from touring in 2023 to address health issues, he has continued to participate in band activities while looking toward future projects with U2. His work with the group has established him as one of the most recognizable drummers of modern rock.

Russ Ballard


October 31, 1945

Russ Ballard joined The Roulettes in 1961 before becoming a founding member of Argent in 1969 with Rod Argent, Chris White, Jim Rodford, and Bob Henrit. As a singer, guitarist, keyboard player, and songwriter, he appeared on albums such as Argent, Ring of Hands, All Together Now, and Nexus. He wrote songs including "Hold Your Head Up," "God Gave Rock and Roll to You," and "Since You Been Gone," which later became hits for other artists.

After leaving Argent in 1974, Ballard launched a solo career and established himself as one of rock's most successful songwriters. His compositions were recorded by artists including Rainbow, Hot Chocolate, Santana, Roger Daltrey, America, and Frida. He continued releasing solo albums while occasionally returning to perform songs from throughout his long career. He still records, writes, and makes selected live appearances while revisiting a catalog that spans more than six decades.
