Michael Anthony
June 20, 1954
The hard rock landscape changed when Michael Anthony joined the definitive lineup of Van Halen in 1974. He was the bass guitarist and backing vocalist for the explosive quartet, providing a heavy, anchoring rhythm section and signature high-register vocal harmonies that defined their sonic identity. His steady bass lines and vocal textures helped propel their self-titled 1978 debut and subsequent landmark albums like Van Halen II and Women and Children First into massive commercial success.
He remained an official member of the group through their stadium-filling era, tracking platinum records and touring globally until 2006. He later co-founded the rock supergroup Chickenfoot in 2008 and joined The Circle in 2014, continuing to record studio albums and perform on international concert stages.

Brian Wilson
June 20, 1942 – June 11, 2025
Brian Douglas Wilson was the bassist, keyboardist, synthesizer player, and lead vocalist for the Beach Boys, shaping the landscape of popular music through his complex harmonic arrangements. He guided the group through a transition into deeper studio experimentation as the seventies arrived, contributing to the lush arrangements on Sunflower in 1970 and Surf's Up in 1971. His intricate vocal tracking and innovative production techniques remained a defining element of their catalog even as his public appearances became more selective.
A major creative resurgence occurred when he returned to a more active role in the studio for the 1976 release 15 Big Ones, which was followed by the deeply personal compositions on Love You in 1977. He remained an official founding member of the configuration through decades of shifting lineups, occasionally stepping away before anchoring major anniversary reunion tours and releasing a series of ambitious solo studio albums from 1988 through 2021.
