 Bon Scott

July 9, 1946 – February 19, 1980

Ronald Belford Scott gave AC/DC its fierce, rebellious identity when he stepped into the frontline as lead singer in 1974. He fronted the group with a charismatic snarl and also contributed occasional bagpipe performances. His razor-sharp lyrics and wild stage presence fueled their rise on classic studio albums like Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Let There Be Rock. He powered the hard-rocking outfit through intensive global concert tours, anchoring their breakthrough success.

The lineup reached international stardom with the massive Highway to Hell album in 1979. His gritty vocal delivery defined their signature sound and drove the record up the music charts. He remained the definitive voice of the band until his career was cut short when he passed away in early 1980.

Mitch Mitchell

July 9, 1946 – November 12, 2008

John Mitchell changed the landscape of rock drumming when he helped form the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1966. He anchored the legendary power trio with an explosive jazz-fusion drumming style that perfectly matched Hendrix's revolutionary guitar work. He powered the official lineup through three landmark studio albums, including Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland. His fast, polyrhythmic playing became a defining element of the psychedelic era, driving their historic performances at major festivals like Monterey and Woodstock.

He continued working as an in-demand studio session player after the trio dissolved. He tracked drums for the band Ramatam on their self-titled debut record and collaborated with various rock guitarists throughout the decade. He returned to the touring circuit for special tribute concert series, keeping the music alive for fans globally until 2008.
