Chris Youlden
January 1, 1943 – April 4, 2025
Chris Youlden joined Savoy Brown in 1967, becoming the band's lead singer and one of its principal songwriters during its most successful years. His soulful voice and blues-based writing helped define the group's sound on albums including Blue Matter, A Step Further, and Raw Sienna.
Youlden left Savoy Brown in 1970 to begin a solo career, releasing several albums while continuing to write and record blues music. He later reunited with former bandmates for selected performances and remained an admired figure among blues rock audiences.
