Dennis Dunaway
December 9, 1946
Dennis Dunaway co-founded the original Alice Cooper band in the mid-1960s with Vincent Furnier, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, and Neal Smith. Playing bass guitar, he became one of the group's principal songwriters and helped create its theatrical hard rock sound on albums including Love It to Death, Killer, and Billion Dollar Babies.
After the original Alice Cooper band dissolved in 1974, Dunaway worked with several projects before reuniting with his former bandmates for recordings and special performances. He also published a memoir about the band's early years and has taken part in reunion concerts and new recordings with the original lineup.
