 Keith Moon


August 23, 1946 – September 7, 1978

Keith Moon was the original studio and touring drummer for The Who from 1964 until 1978. He played drums on major albums like Tommy in 1969, Who's Next in 1971, and Quadrophenia in 1973. His final album with the group was Who Are You, released in 1978.

Outside of his main group, he played drums on the 1967 instrumental track Beck's Bolero. This recording featured guitarists Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. In 1975, he released his only solo album, Two Sides of the Moon, where he performed as a lead singer.
