 Peter Frampton


April 22, 1950. The Herd featured Peter Frampton as the lead guitarist and singer until he departed to form Humble Pie with Steve Marriott in 1969. He contributed his talents as the lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, and singer for Humble Pie through 1971, appearing on several influential studio albums and the acclaimed live recording Performance Rockin the Fillmore.

Launching a solo career in 1972, he gained massive commercial success with the 1976 release Frampton Comes Alive. This double live album showcased his melodic approach to rock and his distinctive use of the talk box. Throughout the remainder of the decade, he remained a prominent figure in the industry, releasing multiple solo records and touring extensively. Peter Frampton also performed as a session lead guitarist for various high profile recording projects.
