Bob Hite
February 26, 1943 – April 5, 1981. Canned Heat was fronted by the powerful lead vocalist Bob Hite, whose deep knowledge of blues history earned him the nickname The Bear. He led the group through their iconic performance at the Woodstock festival and helmed a string of successful albums including Boogie with Canned Heat and Future Blues.
Aside from his singing, he occasionally performed on the harmonica and provided a charismatic stage presence during the band's global tours. Hite remained the constant heart of Canned Heat from 1965 to 1981.
